On 25 September 2020, the FEI communicated the decision of the FEI Board suspending the National Federation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE NF) following investigations into the circumstances around two National Endurance Events (CEN) on January and February 2020 – the Sheikh Mohammed Cup and The President’s Cup – that should have been held as International Endurance Events (CEIs); as the number of foreign athletes has far exceeded the quota permitted for National Events.
The case and the alleged violations concerned only endurance events. However, it did not matter for the FEI Board; the entire UAE NF (all equestrian disciplines) has been suspended. It does not make any difference whether you are a showjumper, a dressage rider, an owner from the UAE, or an official of the UAE NF, due to this decision you are also suspended. You cannot work. You cannot compete!
Obviously, if you live in the UAE or compete for the UAE, the decision affects YOU as well.
